Oh dear! Alitalia just released three new promotion codes. Save €250, €350 or €500 on flights leaving from Italy.
Update: If the code is not working, please try another browser (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari and so on). Remember: The voucher code is only valid for Alitalia flights! If you try to book a leg with another airline (KLM, Air France etc.), the voucher code won't work.
Update2: The code is still working. But you really have to make an effort to find flights only operated by Alitlia. Make sure to search only for 3 legs, the code doesn't work with more. I'd recommend to use this flight search engine http://matrix.itasoftware.com/. You can only search for flights, you can't book them there. Unfortunately I can't search flights for every user.

Lets see what happens this time, the last time Alitalia canceled all flights, but after a week of Facebook demonstrations they confirmed all flights with a value greater than 0,01 Euro! You can read the old post here.
The code is only valid for travel to Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing, Tokyo and Osaka leaving from Italy, between 8th January to 30th April 2013. If you're a frequent reader of the blog, you'll probably know that there are cheap open-jaw flights to Beijing, Tokyo and Osaka right now.
You have to enter the e-Coupon discount code: XMASECO to save €250 on economy fares, XMASPLUS to save €350 on premium economy fares or XMASBIZ to save €500 on business class fares, during the purchase process and then have to click ‘recalculate’ to see the new price. This promotion code can be used for multiple purchases made until 23rd December 2012 only on alitalia.it and alitalia.com.

The code is alive, the OJ bug to Beijing is no longer working, they fixed it. The code works for me in Chrome, I checked it right now with the flights to Brazil. The cheapest fare to Brazil, I have got is 421 EUR (after discount).

Correct. code is indeed NOT working on KLM and other legs. Some legs indeed reroute to AMS, which would be beneficial in my case, but no discount possible. Dates from PAT now for EUR 100.

They've put the prices up for the Beijing and Tokyo fares as mentioned exactly as above (same times and everything), and the e-coupon doesn't work despite being completely with Alitalia and not KLM. Doesn't work with any three browsers on my Mac. Darn.

The problem seems to be that the return Alitalia Rome --> Prague flights have all sold out (from around 20th January to 7th February according to the Matrix site), so despite there being plenty of options on the way out, the return to Prague is only operated by Czech airlines and thus, the code doesn't work. Great job holidaypirates! I managed to grab the screenshot dates 95 euro fare to pek. Code worked a second time too but couldn't get any friend to accompany even at that ridiculous price!
Had trouble with the payment when the system would not even attempt the payment and on the securecode screen just say transaction could not be completed. In the end after some persistence and trying different cards, the payment worked without securecode and I've checked with the card issuer only £77 went.
Now the PNR actually doesn't work for me. On Saudi mybooking it doesn't exist but the eticket number produces a confirmed booking stating the full 348 euro. Eticket number produces a confirmed record on the Italian mybooking page too which it didn't yesterday so it does seem that I have a confirmed booking now and can arrange other connections but I'm a bit wary since even on the Italian the pnr booking shows up as not confirmed reservation valid till so and so time on 17th dec(in Italian). So have I got a booking or not and is anyone else in the same boat as I am? Reply at samisalib611 at g mail dot com if u could.
Once I have some assurance I just need to book some Avois flights to Venice and back from Prague both of which I haven't seen and would spend a day or two there perhaps. Haven't seen rome either so that'd be a welcome stopover...did anyone else get their confirmation for the screenshot dates 28th to 5th? If someone is interested perhaps we could find company amongst us and travel tog? Marco, terent, adam? I'm on couch surfing too.

I've checked and can see the multi-leg option still. I went on and checked the dates that I booked 28th to 5th to beijing and the alitalia flights fare has rocketed to 927 euros(~600 with air france or klm options) but the DISCOUNT CODE STILL WORKS! bringing price down to 677 euros....
So if you can find a reasonable fare around 4-600 euros on alitalia legs, a bargain can be found...still some hope!
Three days for the coupon to run...I will try Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro destinations for march and april and if I find something I will post here...searching isn't easy..
If only some advanced bargain searcher can write a guide as another post on this awesome website?? Suggestion for the admin....
