About your stay
South East Asia is a popular destination for a wide spectrum of travellers. From the humble backpacker to those seeking luxury, this is a corner of the world that has it all. With this deal we show you how easy (and cheap) it is to see multiple countries in one trip. In the space of 3 weeks you'll visit Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia & Malaysia taking in the different delights each has to offer.
Bangkok
Kick off your south east Asian adventure with Bangkok. Over the next few days shake off the jet lag and explore Thailand's capital which has oodles on offer from stunning temples to banging nightlife and floating markets to designer boutiques - so you wont be at a loss of things to do.
Hanoi
Hanoi is one of Vietnam's bustling central points. With countless local vendors selling all manner of wears, loads of street food stalls (including some of the best Banh Mi in the whole of the city) all within walking distance within Hanoi's Old Quarter, you'll never run out of things to see and do.
There are also plenty of opportunities to venture out of the city and see the sights of northern Vietnam. Halong Bay is just a 3 hour drive away and there are many companies around that offer boat tours and overnight cruises around the UNESCO site!
Siem Reap, sitting on the banks of the Mekong river, is a perfect fusion of modern and traditional Cambodian life. Head to Pub Street for the infamous nightlife as well as some great places to eat.
Or for some culture and history, we recommend taking the time to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Angkor Wat. These stunning temples have stood for over 900 years and are a must when visiting Cambodia!
Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur is fast becoming one of south east Asia's tourist hotspots and has recently been named 4th best city in the world for shopping. But if clothes stores aren't up your street, Kuala Lumpur provides a mass of points of interest ranging from the old and traditional (Batu Caves) to the modern and awe-inspiring (Patronus Towers).
So, after all that, it's time to head to the beach! Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and is famous for its endless golden beaches and mountainous jungles. Patong is known for its party scene, however, if that's 'not you', just down the coast is Karon beach - a quieter stretch of sand with a wonderful selection of street food vendors and market stalls.
We have given you a generous amount of time visiting the highlights of each area, however, if you would like to extend your trip this is possible by booking flights to other destinations. Have a look at our flight finder to find great rates to a number of awesome destinations.
Going Solo
Travelling by one's self can be a daunting prospect at first, however, it can also be a liberating experience. If you have never done it before, Thailand is one of the safest places in south east Asia in order to start your solo adventure. Our top tip is to use common sense in all aspects of your trip when it comes to money, expensive items and walking alone at night. There are a great many solo travellers making their way through Thailand so there will be plenty of chances to meet new people.
