Known for it's spectacular Roman ruins and protected harbour area Pula is very much one of Croatia's most under rated destinations. Because of this the local cuisine is still very affordable, making the most of it's seaside location, fresh fish is very much the dish of the day!
Plitvice National Park and Lakes
Head south and inland to discover the stunning Plitvice Lakes. Looking like something straight out of a story book, this National Park is littered with 16 picturesque lakes interconnected by naturally formed waterfalls. There are plenty of hiking trails that wind around the lakes and through the 300km square forrest, this is defiantly something for your Instagram account!
Split
Journey south and take in the views of the turquoise waters of Split. The country's second largest city has plenty on offer for the first time visitor due to it's impressive array of Roman monuments and historical architecture. If history isn't your thing, have no fear, as Split is also a buzzing modern utopia with plenty going on during the evenings.
Dubrovnik
Keeping in a southerly direction (and briefly passing through the Bosnian border) and you'll end up in Croatia's main tourist draw, Dubrovnik. Some of you may recognise it as King's Landing from the Game of Thrones series. In fact Dubrovnik has plenty to offer for the GoT fans out there as it one of the main filming locations for the cult hit and you can easily arrange a tour that'll take you round the city to highlight these points of interest!
