After landing in Bangkok you'll be spending your first 2 days in Asia in the The Xtreme Suites - 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor. As well as funky, modern decor it is well situated in the city and has a roof top pool. Also, upgrade to B&B for only an extra £7 for the 2 nights.
Bangkok has oodles on offer from stunning temples to banging nightlife and floating markets to designer boutiques - so you wont be at a loss of things to do.
On your final day, rest up in the 3* Crystal Suites - 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor - which offers easy access to the airport for your flight the next day.
Next stop on the tour is Phuket, make the most of the world famous beaches. Make the most of your 3 nights here at the 4/5 on TripAdvisor rated Blu Monkey Hub which is located within walking distance of Old Phuket Town.
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand and is famous for its endless golden beaches and mountainous jungles. Patong is known for its party scene, however, if that's 'not you', just down the coast is Karon beach - a quieter stretch of sand with a wonderful selection of street food vendors and market stalls. Or why not grab a ferry from the port and head out to one of the smaller Thai islands.
Home of the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, Siem Reap is a buzzing city that fuses the ancient with the modern.
Whilst in Siem Reap you'll be able to call the Golden Citadel Hotel Siem Reap - 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor - home. This luxurious resort is right in the heart of the action of the city. A short walk to the famous Pub Street for all the night life you could possibly ask for. If that's not your scene you can easily walk to a number of night markets from here as well. The hotel itself has so much to offer as well; an outdoor pool, free WiFi and airport shuttles - to name a few.
Hanoi is one of Vietnam's bustling central points. With countless local vendors selling all manner of wears, loads of street food stalls (including some of the best Banh Mi in the whole of the city) all within walking distance within Hanoi's Old Quarter, you'll never run out of things to see and do. Your hotel for the next 4 nights will be the Lucky 3 hotel - 4/5 on TripAdvisor - which lies close to this hub.
There are also plenty of opportunities to venture out of the city and see the sights of northern Vietnam. Halong Bay is just a 3 hour drive away and there are many companies around that offer boat tours and overnight cruises around the UNESCO site!
Going it alone
Travelling by one's self can be a daunting prospect at first, however, it can also be a liberating experience. If you have never done it before, Thailand, Cambodia & Vietnam are some of the safest places in south east Asia in order to start your solo adventure. Our top tip is to use common sense in all aspects of your trip when it comes to money, expensive items and walking alone at night. There are a great many solo travellers making their way through this area of the world so there will be plenty of chances to meet new people.
