Mateys, Christmas is usually a word we don't like to throw around too early, but with our spring and summer plans a bit up in the air at the moment we need something to look forward to.
We have sniffed out some of the awesome Christmas markets in Europe (in no particular order), some of them are even here in the UK, so we can dream of a time when this travel ban is all over with.
1. Berlin, Germany
Where better to begin with Christmas Markets than Germany. Christmas markets wouldn't be the same without bratwursts and Gluhwein and Berlin has all this to offer and more. There are a wide choice of Christmas markets in Berlin or why not do a Christmas Market 'crawl' - what better than a normal pub crawl and will for sure het you in the spirit.

2. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest has so much to offer to travellers, with its year round hot spas and it is even better as Christmas Time when the Christmas Markets are in full throttle. Again you will find a choice of Christmas Markets, with mulled wine and local delicacies on-sale. Why not do some Christmas shopping while you are or buy some stunning home-made Christmas decorations.

3. Krakow, Poland
It's too hard to pick our favourite out of the cities in Poland, but Krakow will for sure be near the top of the list. The main square transformed with stunning stalls and delights, making it even better more magical than normal.

4. Prague, Czech Republic
Prague is as pretty as a postcard and no more so than at Christmas time. It's the place to be if you're a pirate, try a glass of grog instead of mulled wine - water, lemon, sugar and rum - perfect for us pirates. Prague's Christmas markets also offer open-air concerts and traditional nativity scenes with super cute sheep, goats and a donkey.

5. Winter Wonderland, London, UK
When Winter Wonderland comes to London you really know about it, you can even see the bright lights from the sky if you're coming in from a flight. This massive event runs from November to January and has everything you could wish for to make you feel Christmassy. There are so many stalls you couldn't count, fairground rides, revolving bars, log cabins, ice rink, cinema, ice bar and even a massive concert hall where you might see the odd celebrity appear.

6. Bath, UK
Another awesome Christmas market we have here in the UK is none other than Bath. It offers many stalls, many make-ship bars serving all the mulled wine and beers you could wish for and more.

7. Lisbon, Portugal
We had to include a Christmas Market in the list where you can also enjoy a bit of sunshine. Lisbon in Portugal is a stunning city and offers nice temperatures in December compared to some of the other Christmas Market destinations. It offers a choice of Christmas market with our favourite being 'Wonderland Lisboa' . Here you will enjoy the traditional market, an ice skating rink, Santa’s village, a Ferris wheel and even live performances.

8. Vienna, Austria
Vienna is simply stunning when the Christmas markets are there, with all things Christmassy from fairy lights and ferris wheels to ice-skating rinks, stalls selling hand-made soaps, crafts and traditional toys, not forgetting the mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and freshly-baked pretzels.

9. Copenhagen, Denmark
With the choice of 3 Christmas markets at least, you will be spoilt for choice of you choose Copenhagen as your destination. Here you will find Christmas trees, Christmas decorations and Christmas lights, many stalls and of course a ferris wheel.

10. Edinburgh, UK
Back to the UK we go (we really do have a great choice here), this time to the capital of bonnie Scotland also known as the one and only Edinburgh. Edinburgh goes all out for its Christmas markets, with mulled wine and cider, specially made bars with live performances and a choice of fairground ride to keep your spirits up.
