Bonjour from Paris where ma mère has just informed me that she is verrrry happy with the view from our room for the next deux nights here at @shangrilaparis. What do you think? Thank you all for the great tips for our time in Amsterdam in the comments of my last photo!!

4. Here's one to tick off the bucket list
Klyuchevskaya eruption. Right after my Greenland cruises in Scoresby Sund I moved to the "other side" of planet, to Kamchatka. My group was extremely lucky to observe the current eruption of Klyuchevskaya volcano. We shot this just a few days ago. When the night falls on land, you can clearly see lava stream going down from volcano. And you can't stop looking at this spectacular show. To photograph eruption was one of my deepest wishes. The shooting star is the symbol of this wish, I guess ;) After showcasing my Greenland expedition photos I'll come back with fresh Kamchatka photos. I'm still here for one more week. 5. Just take a look at the beautiful blue water
To me, #TravelMeans always exploring with a curious mind and an open heart, whether it is the first time or the hundredth time I'm discovering a place. It is about treating each natural area and every person with respect and approaching everything as a learning experience. Pictured here is the lake in South Tyrol that I visited two years in a row on almost the exact same day. Sense of wonder still completely intact. Thanks, @Janbala, for asking the question! Tell me what #travelmeans to you guys! #spon
6. Anyone a fan of the green, luscious countryside?
If there is some illusion that my life is a vacation then here is a dose of reality. I work just like any other human. In my life I have given up a lot to create a career that takes me to places I am passionate about. I wish there was some Instagram success story here but it couldn't be farther from the truth. 11 years ago I quit school, multiple jobs, & lived out of trucks & vans before It was #vanlife .... for me it was just real life. Cans of tuna 3 days a week. I cut my teeth on a career in photography before I even owned a passport. Because I never imagined it would actually take me anywhere. It wasn't always the pretty landscapes and incredible far flung locations. When I started I would shoot literally anything that would have put food on the table & gas in the tank. And I did.. I shot everything. Because I wanted more than anything to make a living as a photographer.. Or rather an Artist. . Why do I write this? Because the number One question I get in DM's, emails and any other form of contact is "How did you get to where you are today?" And the answer is simple.. Maybe more Simple than most people want to hear. You work your ass off. In fact be willing to work when others aren't. When it gets late and everyone else is out having a good time. All the technical aspects of photography will come easy trust me. I cringe when I say that because some people out there think there's a trick... Some sort of formula you can use to bypass the hard work. The truth is when you put your art first before all your other needs (sometimes even relationships take a back seat) that you start to notice a difference. Does your social-life suffer? Yes.. Is it meant to be easy .. No. Was that the answer you wanted to hear ? Probably not. ✌🏼️
7. Just don't look down...
I don't know how paragliding normally goes down but here's my experience. I arrive at the meeting point for a leisurely briefing and time to gather and sort my "flying gear" only to be told we have 2 minutes to make the funicular to catch the right wind conditions. Flinging cameras and GoPro's everywhere I made it in time. At the top my guide is very briskly pulling out his glider whilst telling me that all I have to do is run for the cliff edge and don't stop running when I reach it, rather throw myself forward and lean in. 😳 Within 5 minutes flat I'm running directly for the edge of a mountain and we're off! I tell you what, I've been skydiving 4 times and I reckon that first part of paragliding almost gives you the same adrenalin. Then it's easy peasy! This was with Engadin Paragliding just outside of Lake Moritz. @MySwitzerland #inLOVEwithSWITZERLAND

12. Just lion around
Did you know that today is World Lion Day? 🦁🦁🦁➖➖➖➖➖🦁🦁🦁 Seeing a lion in the wild is one of the most magnificent wildlife experiences we have ever had. Lions are majestic animals that are facing a high risk of extinction. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ There are less than 30,000 lions left in the wild. Sadly, there are more lions kept in captivity in South Africa being sent to their death for canned hunting experiences than there are in the wild. Let's make it our mission to preserve their habitat so they will thrive in the future. #worldlionday
