Calling all dare devils and lovers of 'out of the box' accommodations - we think we're found the ULTIMATE destination for you... and it's only 34 miles off the coast of North Carolina!
The Frying Pan Tower was rocking the social distancing movement before COVID-19! Originally a lighthouse to deter vessels away from the shallow waters in which it stands, it was retired years ago and then turned into a hotel. This isn't any ordinary residence and certainly not for the faint hearted. For one... the only way to get there is either by boat or helicopter. For another, the tower is surrounded by sharks and is occasionally hit by hurricanes.
But for those looking to truly switch off and discover something magical, this is for you. No light pollution means that you can see the billions of stars above at night and enjoy unspoilt sunrises by day.
So what is there to do some where THIS remote? Practise your swing with golf balls that turn into fish food provided by the hotel. You can also dive underwater, or blitz round on a jet ski above!
The hotel is currently undergoing renovation, But an average stay here will set you back around £160 per night (minimum stay 3 nights). Check out the website here.
