The life of a university student is a tough one - exams and coursework deadlines, watching the same episode of Friends for the 77th time, oh and a lifetime mountain of debt. Ryanair have decided to lighten the load by signing a partnership with the EU Erasmus Student Network. Not only will Erasmus university students get a sweet 15% discount on flights, but they'll also get a free checked-in bag with every flight booked!
No more trying to stuff a week's worth of clothes (oh and textbooks of course) into a backpack! Us pirates have come up with 5 ways to make use of this huge increase in luggage space. Got any more bright ideas? Add them below!
Don't forget to have a browse of our Flights Finder and start planning your next trip.
1. Dirty Washing
Just because there's a plane ride between you and the parents doesn't mean you shouldn't take full advantage of the laundry facilities at Casa de Mum & Dad. Now you can take a suitcase full of your dirty undercrackers home for reading week. One wash and you'll be sorted til the end of the semester. Winner winner (save your money for a) chicken dinner.
2. Baked Beans
Spend your weekdays watching repeats of Come Dine With Me but not yet a gourmet chef? Studying abroad and there's none of Heinz's finest at your local corner shop? You can probably fit a good 100 tins of beans into a checked bag. Mix it up with plenty of Döners and Domino's and you'll have the complete student diet.
3. Alarm Clocks
We know how it is. 8 different alarms on your phone aren't enough to get you up for that 10am lecture. Take a rucksack full of old-school alarm clocks back to the student gaff. Set a time and hide them in various points around your room. Welcome to the nightmare.
4. Traffic Cones
What is more banterous than nicking a traffic cone on a night out?! NOTHING, that's what. Now you can ride the Bantersaurus Rex all the way home by checking in a stack of cones. Regale your mates with outlandish tales of all the local statues you've decorated with traffic signals and building materials. They will be creasing with laughter, I assure you.
Ryanair's luggage generosity means you'll avoid the drama of never finding a decent cuppa on the continent. Or you can stock up on the cheap stuff in the Shires and take it back to uni. Well, you've got to drink something during Jeremy Kyle haven't you?
