We all know that Italy holds the top spot in pizza-making, but you can’t always jet off to Naples anytime you want a slice (although we wish we could!). Luckily, there is the 50 Top Pizza Guide 2020, ranking the top 50 pizzerias that are bringing the Italian tradition to the rest of Europe. Today we’re walking through the top 10 — and number 1 is right here in the UK! Bon appetit pirates
1. 50 Kalò di Ciro Salvo (London, United Kingdom)
Located in Trafalgar Square, this pizzeria has won top spot for the second year in a row. It's owned by chef Ciro Salvo, from San Giorgio a Cremano (on the outskirts of Naples), who was also named “Pizza Chef of the Year 2020”.
2. Via Toledo Enopizzeria (Vienna, Austria)
Owned by Chef Francesco Calò, Via Toledo Enopizzeria can be found in the heart of Vienna and serves authentic Neapolitan pizza.
3. Bijou (Paris, France)
Neapolitan chef Gennaro Nasti opened Bijou restaurant in the scenic Montmartre neighborhood. His tuna and onion pizza was named "Pizza of the Year 2020”!
4. BÆST (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Holding an award for innovation and sustainability, this establishment boasts four restaurants, a bakery, a wine import company, a cocktail bar AND a farm, all of which work in synergy with each other.
5. La Pizza è Bella (Brussels, Belgium)
6. Malafemmena (Berlin, Germany)
Our Italian colleagues working out of HolidayPirates HQ in Berlin are this pizzeria’s number one fans! Chef Gabriele Cirillo opened this gem in the Schöneberg district of the city in 2017 and recently opened a second location in Prenzlauer Berg.
7. Lilla Napoli (Falkenberg, Sweden)
The only pizzeria in the top 10 list that isn’t based in a capital city!

This pizzeria in the Spanish capital is famous for its reinterpretation of Neapolitan traditions.
