Pirates, with the days getting shorter and the temperature getting chillier, that can only mean one thing -- autumn is upon us.
And guess what? We love autumn!
It's time to wrap up all snuggly, light some bonfires, watch the leaves turn from green to yellow to brown and most importantly, it's the time of year to get eating some pies.
Below are some of our favourites from across the UK.
We start our culinary journey waaaay up north. In fact, so far north, we're off to Edinburgh where we're told one of the best pies you can get is a steak pie at the Scran and Scallie gastro pub.
Dayummm that looks tasty.
Ok, this may be somewhat of a controversial choice but, with the most outlets in the country (29 in Newcastle), can you truly beat a Greggs steak bake? A steak bake is basically a pie just in a different shape.
The place to go in the Midlands in undoubtedly Mad O'Rourkes Pie Factory -- with a name like that, you know it's going to be an experience for sure.
Try out the The Desperate Dan, a steak and kidney monster which is so big, it comes served on a shovel!
They have a few outlets now but that means nothing as a great pie is a great pie and we are certainly partial to a Pieminister pie so head down to their restaurant in Cardiff for one of their award-winning beauties.
Ok, we know, we know, what on earth does London down south know about pies? But actually, it turns out, they have some that are genuinely not terrible.
We're quite fond of the bad boys they have at Putney Pies. Mmmm look at that gravy, baby.
