Mateys, we have a bit of good news surrounding quarantine rules, from 15th December, if you arrive back in England from one of the countries NOT on the UK safe travel list, you will be allowed to self-isolate for 5 days then pay for a private covid-19 test to see if you need to stay in isolation.

If the test comes back negative, you're free to get back to normal life! The tests are rumoured to cost between £65 and £120 and the results should be with you within 24 - 48 hours.

Grant Shapps the Secretary of State for Transport tweeted: "We’re cutting the self-isolation period by two thirds from 15 DECEMBER for passengers arriving into England. Taking a privately provided #COVID test on day five & receiving a negative result will end self-isolation."

He followed with: "The introduction of this programme has only been made possible with the evolution of the science and understanding of this virus. We’ve taken the time to put the right system in place, ensuring we keep the British public safe."

In even more good news Mr Shapps then tweeted: "We're also supporting the recovery of domestic aviation, providing a new funding package – up to £8m per airport - for commercial English airports. This will support vital businesses, shore up jobs and reinforce critical, local economies, helping to level up the country."
