We have some good news for you next mateys, the amount of time you will have to quarantine on your return form a country that is not on the safe list is being slashed by 4 days!
Grant Shapps the Secretary of State for Transport tweeted: "Self-isolation for contacts of people with coronavirus shortened from 14 to 10 days across UK from Mon
Change also applies to people instructed to quarantine after returning from non-exempt countries. And 'Test to Release' available after 5 days for non-Travel Corridor returns"
So from Monday 14th December, you will only need to self-isolate for 10 days, even less if you use 'Test to Release' when you return. This applies to England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, it is already in place in Wales!
The same rules applies to someone who has been in contact with someone with covid and is alerted by the NHS Track and Trace app!
