Blow away the blues of an extended lockdown with a series of geography lessons from the one and only David Attenborough. The living legend himself will be gracing your living rooms from today (20th April) as he has been appointed as the nation's virtual geography teacher.

Although aimed at children of different ages, adults can join in the factual fun too. Six 20-minute episodes will air over the next coming day, and can be found during the BBC Bitesize Daily on BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button.

Even though we can't travel right now, Sir Attenborough will take us all on a journey across the continents in an incentive to captivate house bound kids during school closures - now that's home-schooling that we can get on board with!

Today's class kicks off with a lesson on topics such as oceans, animals and mapping the world through the BBC's virtual learning programme.

Sir David, we salute you!
