Vaccinated foreign visitors arriving on the Thai island of Phuket will no longer need to quarantine from 1 July.
On Friday (26 March), Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha approved the proposal by Phuket's private sector and business groups to inoculate at least 70% of people living on the island to prepare for the reopening, according to Tourism Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn.
The government plans to test the re-opening plan in Phuket before expanding to other key tourist hot spots in the country.
Phuket will re-open three months earlier than the rest of the country for tourists.
It is currently illegal to travel internationally from the UK on holiday.
