Happy Valentines Day, pirates! What are you up to today? Are you gearing up for a romantic dinner with your partner, complete with chocolate and wine? Alternatively, you might be content and unbothered in your solitude. Well, who are we to judge - no need to share food is really a win/win, right?
However, you could have recently split up from a partner, feeling lonely and vengeful after a messy break up. In which case, we have just the therapy for you: for a small fee in this British zoo, you can name a cockroach after your ex.
Hemsley's Conservation Centre in Kent is offering this small but remedial opportunity. During the action, new names of cockroaches will be displayed on the screen in the terrarium at the zoo, and the callers will receive certificates. Naming a cockroach costs only £1.50, and the collected money will be donated towards worthwhile projects.
Over the other side of the pond in Texas, they have a similar idea, where you can also name a cockroach after your ex - the only difference is that they'll then be fed to the zoo's very own meerkats. Everything will be live streamed during the 'Quit Bugging Me' live broadcast from Zoo El Paso.
For those who are happily coupled up, Valentines night falls on a Friday this year so why not use that as an excuse to head out on a long weekend break with your favourite shipmate?
