Just shy of a year after they ceased trading, Thomas Cook is relaunching as an online travel company. After the brand was bought by Fosun Tourism Group, the company is being restructured so users will now plan their own holidays, a deviation from their previous model.
The relaunch puts COVID safety at the center. Customers can only book holidays to destinations on the travel corridor list, meaning no quarantine at either end. The company is also ATOL-protected and will use a “trust account model”, meaning the money you’ve paid for your flights can’t be withdrawn by Thomas Cook until after you’ve returned safely back home.
The company plans to add new destinations as quarantine regulations shift and more travel corridors are added to the list.
