Yesterday was the day we had all been waiting for when Boris announced his 'road map' out of lockdown. Now we have a little more clarification as to what this means for our travel plans for 2021. Due to the plummeting case rate and successful vaccine role out, the PM has announced a 4 step program to hopefully 'irreversibly' get us out of lockdown.

Please note to take these dates with a pinch of salt as they could always change.

Staycations:

As part of step 2, self contained staycations and travel within the UK will be permitted from April 12th. This will be, however, limited to 1 household only. The 1 household only rule will be scrapped on May 17th, meaning that group getaways within the UK will be permitted.

International travel:

Come step 3 on May 17th, international travel may be permitted, this will depend on the success of previous steps, however. Testing before departure may still be in place - you will have to check with the country's guidelines that you will be travelling to closer to the time.

What does this mean if you have bookings before this date?

What you will need to do is approach your original point of purchase (or they will contact you) to arrange a change of date or cancellation. You'll need to check the company's original rules for COVID cancellation. Please also note that there will be many people trying to get through at the same time, so your patience will be greatly appreciated.
