MO.OM Hotel, Milan, Italy

Boasting some of the quirkiest suites we think we have ever seen, the 4* MO.OM Hotel lies half way between the bustling city of Milan and Lake Garda - making it the perfect base for visiting both locations. The jewel in this unique accommodation's crown are it's bespoke design rooms. We are in love with their cave style deluxe suite as it has a circular bed, mirrored ceilings and in room hot tub. This suite is perfect for those looking for a super romantic stay.

The stylish and quirky 4* Daniel Vienna has a great location in Vienna, right next to the Palace and the Main Train Station. Rooms at this design accommodation are clean and modern but we particularly love their 'hammock' rooms which, as well as being more spacious than other rooms, boast a relaxing area with hammock, so you can gaze out at the great city views.

The Copper Room, Bambu Induh, Bali, Indonesia

Boasting some of the most incredible views from a bathtub we think we have ever seen, the Copper Room is named after it's free standing copper bathtub in the open air (yet totally private) bathroom. Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita, Matera, Italy

The area of Matera is famous for it's 'cave' hotels - built into the sandstone cliffs. But our favourite is the Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita. It has the perfect mix of traditional features and modern comforts. The executive suite's bathroom is super relaxing, with a free standing bath and open log fire built into the walls!

My Brighton Hotel, Brighton, UK

Set just a few 100 meters from Brighton's famous Pavilion and Palace pier, lies the 4* My Brighton hotel. This quirky accommodation is in the heart of Brighton's alternative shopping area, The Laines.

Perfect for an overnight stay by the seaside, each room, as well as having all the mod cons like flat screen TVs and WiFi, has a unique style to it. Upgrade to a suite for individual style pieces like round beds, in room bath tubs and antique carrousel horses (yes really!)

Dreamer's Island, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Well, not really a feature IN the room, more like the room IS the feature. Dreamer's Island lies 200m off the coast of Zanzibar and is a bohemian, man made structure. Consisting of 2 floating buildings, the main houses an open air bar area and 2 small rooms upstairs. The other is it's own private 'suite'. Boat transfers are free between the structures and the mainland - or you can swim over for a free shot (bar man's rules!)

Now, this isn't the height of luxury but it is Pirate recommended for those who wish to make some unique memories in Zanzibar!
