Pirates, as it is Hallowe'en we have been on the look out for some scary out of the ordinary places that you can visit as we do love to be spooked, however, we think this may be taking it a step too far for some of us scaredy cats!
Between the canals of Xochimico, south of Mexico City there is a small floating island full of creepy, disfigured dolls called 'Isla de las Munecas' which means The Island of the Dolls - argh!
If you thought Babyface (the mutant half baby/half spider who lives in Sid's room in Toy Story) was a scary sight, you may want to avert your eyes, think way worse and tons of them, hanging from trees all around you!
Many of the mutilated dolls have severed limbs, decapitated heads, no hair and blank eyes which will burn through your very soul.
The story goes that a young girl was found drowned by a man called Don Julian Santana Barrera who later found a doll floating in the water and assuming it belonged to the girl, hung it to a nearby tree as a mark of respect.
He then proceeded to hang more and more dolls from the trees and all around the small island, making it look like something out of a horror film.
In a weird twist of fate, he later also drowned in the same canal where he found the little girl and the doll all those years ago.
Many people claim that the story is a made up tale, but many also claim that they have seen the dolls open their eyes (if they have them in the first place), move their limbs and heads and even whisper to each other! Shudders!
Isla de las Munecas is now a tourist attraction, with people bringing their own creepy dolls to add to the terror.
