Pirates, a lot of us have taken up running as our exercise of choice during the lockdown, being able to clear our head and get out of the house is a godsend. Hopefully we will try to keep it up once this is all over and why not head to Iceland and take part in a run to celebrate the awesome Northern Lights.
The Northern Lights Run takes place annually in the capital, Reykjavik one day in February at night which makes it even cooler as there will be lights, music and people dressed up.
Northern Lights Run 2020:
The Northern Lights Run is all about the city of Reykjavik imitating the Northern Lights for one evening and celebrating the stunning phenomenon that is aurora polaris.
For the run you can dress in bright colours, get some glow sticks (lights are also included in the signing up fee) and there will be various DJs and music playing to make the run even more enjoyable.
Northern Lights Run 2019:
The next Northern Lights Run will take place on Friday 6th February 2021 with registration opening on 1st January, there is a small fee (2021 amount not announced as yet) which includes entry to the race as well as some colourful lights.
This is not about being the first to reach the finish line, it is not a competition, rather a festival for everyone to come together and have some fun - for more information click here and sign up from January 1st.
