Your Face Painted on a Plane: It's True!
If you have ever dreamed to taking your fame to new heights, this dream may actually be a bit closer than you think. We have all heard of airlines running certain promotional deals to increase their exposure and drive revenue. However, Ryanair has very literally taken this concept to a new level. They have recently announced through their Facebook page that 30 lucky contestants will have their names and faces painted on the very same number of their flagship planes. Perhaps what is even best is that entering into this contest is absolutely free. What has driven this company to offer such a reward?
30 Years in the Business
It seems strange to think that Ryanair has been in business for no less than 30 years. While some of us may not remember its rather humble origins, the truth of the matter is the winners of this contest will certainly never forget their three decades in the airline industry. Dubbed the "30 Names, 30 Planes" competition, all that is required is for a visitor to become a "fan" of the company. Then, the process is simple.
Where to I Begin?
After you have become a fan of Ryanair, you will be asked to upload a photo of yourself (obviously , those which feature your face prominently are the only ones that are permitted). You will then enter your name into a separate search field. It is truly that simple! After the video is submitted and approved, the technology gurus over at Ryanair will present a representation of what the photo would look like on one of their planes. This is actually in the form of a CGI video. So, you will be able to realistically envision how it will appear if you are a lucky winner.
Announcing the Lucky 30
However, keep in mind that there are likely to be countless applicants. You will also have to wait until September to discover if you have been included in the 30 "sky-high" faces. Let us not forget that there are absolutely no entry fees and the process itself will take only a matter of minutes to complete. With such a minimal investment, why not try your luck and see what the fates may have in store?
Where Will My Face Appear?
If you are chosen out as one out of the 30 winners, your face will be graphically printed on the side of the plane just below the cockpit windows. Your name is placed below the picture as is your signature. So, you can rest assured in the knowledge that you will very well be receiving "airtime" in a way that you had previously never thought possible.
This is a clever marketing ploy by Ryanair but it is just as exciting for the contestants themselves. Why not try your hand at a bit of "stellar" fame and enter into the competition? Even if you are afraid of flying, there is nothing wrong with a bit of extra publicity!
