Pirates, we've spotted cheap return flights to Rwanda and we couldn't resist putting a 10-night trip together for this incredible country.

Rwanda is considered one of the safest countries to visit in Africa. It is also frequently referenced as being a top place for female solo travellers in particular. With 55% of its parliament made up of women representatives, Rwanda ranks number one in the world for its gender equality in parliament.
With this in mind, we have put together a solo itinerary.
Fly from London to Kigali, the capital, with Brussels Airlines for £382 return on 04 May. These flights contain a short stopover in Brussels, but they are the best and cheapest available. The next option on those dates costs £508 with a much longer stopover.
Example itinerary
Kigali: 4 nights
Kigali is a vibrant modern city, set amidst rolling green valleys. It has a thriving art scene and buzzing cafe culture. Make sure you visit The Kigali Genocide Memorial, commemorating the 1994 Rwandan genocide. We also recommend Nyamirambo Women’s Center, where you can take walking tours, craft classes, and learn about the incredible work the center does in promoting and empowering women through development and employment.
Kigali is also a great base for taking tours.
Gisenyi: 6 nights
Gisenyi is a town on the northern edge of the stunning Lake Kivu. You'll find lakeside beaches and beautiful countryside, a perfect spot for relaxing. It's also just an hour away from the Volcanoes National Park, where you can go gorilla trekking.
We've spotted cheap dates in May and June. This is a great time to visit Rwanda. The rainy season is ending, so the country will look lush and verdant, paired with sunnier days. This is also an excellent time for wildlife, with newborn animals making their first forays through the parks.
