From £233 you get your flights and three nights at the 4-star NH Collection Murano Villa. Murano is the second largest island in the Venetian Lagoon - it's just an 18-minute ferry ride from Venice. It's world-famous for its glass-making industry, which dates back to the 13th century.
In fact, such was its importance, that the Murano glassmakers were famously killed if they ever tried to leave the Republic of Venice. Today, of course, you (and the glass makers) are free to leave so it makes the perfect base to visit Venice. It avoids the serious crowds that the Floating City is known for.
