Think Tokyo is too expensive?Check out this cheap hostel!Pirates, visiting Japan during its famous cherry blossom season must be on everyone's bucket list... at least, it's definitely on mine. If it's on yours too, you're in luck. We've found return flights from £398 during the spring, when the cherry blossom will be in full bloom.
Japan is a slightly more expensive destination, but these decently-priced flights from London to Tokyo will allow you more money to spend when you get there. For the best price, you'll set off in mid-April and return mid-May, spending 4 weeks exploring this ultimate bucket-list destination.
We'd suggest hitting all the typical tourist places such as Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nara, Osaka and Hokkaido. Take a look at our Japan travel guide, written by our very own pirate Sean, to make sure you don't miss the best bits of this diverse country.

We have to say, Toyko seems to be the best place for all budgets, with some (not many) cheaper options and lots on the more luxurious side of the scale too.
For budget travellers, we found this capsule pod in Tokyo from £11 on Trivago - that's cheaper than most main meals in London restaurants! You can check Hostelworld, but most hostels are more than double this on there for a dorm. This is the cheapest place to stay we could find in Tokyo, but not to fear as it's got good reviews too.
Example dates: 21 April, 2024
If you're looking for somewhere more upmarket to start your trip, try this hotel instead. It may only be 2 star, but the reviews are good. It's also still reasonably priced for a well-rated hotel and once you look at 4 or 5-stars, it jumps up to minimum £200, so this seems like a great deal.
Example date: 22 April, 2024

We might be Pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. Here’s the catch: with deals this hot, things change quickly: flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. Mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. But, if you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry: we’re working on more great offers.
