Pirates, if El Nido isn't already on your bucket list, then you're mad. It's all over Instagram and for good reason, the dramatic limestone cliffs, the aqua blue water and lush green palm trees make it the epitome of paradise.

We've found a way you can do a holiday there for under £1k, pairing return flights from £404 at the beginning of October (just after monsoon season) with ten nights in a bamboo bungalow at El Nido Coco Resort. The price of £987 includes breakfast.

If you're looking for a straight-forward trip, then this isn't the one for you. After you land in Manila, you'll have to get a domestic flight to El Nido. BUT it's worth it to spend ten nights in paradise. Trust me, when I went, I flew to Puerto Princesa and then got a 5-6 hour bus to El Nido (because it was cheaper...) and it was STILL worth it.

There are four steps to this DIY booking (detailed below), so make sure you complete them all to have the best trip to El Nido! 👇

Details

Dates: 01–14 October, 2024

Duration: 10 nights in El Nido

Departure airport: London

Hotel in El Nido: El Nido Coco Resort (4/5 rating on Tripadvisor)

Price breakdown:

£864 (hotel) / 2 (people sharing) = £432 + £404 + £151 = £987 per person

How to book:

1. Book the flights to Manila

The first option is to fly from London Heathrow to Manila with Air China from £404 return. These are the cheapest return flights to the Philippines that we've ever seen! You'll have a stop in China both ways, but there are no direct options and this price is great considering prices often reach £650 in a similar time period.

Example date: 01–14 October, 2024

Pirate tip 🏴‍☠️: If you're willing to spend a little bit more (£18 to be exact), you can also cut 10 hours of your journey to Manila...

2. Book the domestic flights from Manila to El Nido

Example dates: 3–13 October 2024

3. Book the resort for El Nido

This is the best value resort we've found. You'll stay in a private 2-person bungalow at the resort, which has a pool and the price includes breakfast.

As you can see, Trivago recommends you book via their own booking engine, but if you look below to "our lowest price", booking with Agoda will save you £21 a night. When you click the "our lowest price" button, the drop-down menu will show. Click "visit site" next on the Agoda button to be taken directly to their booking site so you can book this place at the cheapest rate.

The dates will be 25 April – 3 May 2024 for this accommodation, as you will land in Manila and then get your domestic flight to El Nido on the 25 April.

4. Book a hotel in Manila for your final night before you head back home using the widget below.

Additional Information

We might be Pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. Here’s the catch: with deals this hot, things change quickly: flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. Mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. But, if you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry: we’re working on more great offers.
