We've not seen Oz flights this cheap in a long time. A very long time even.

So if Australia is on your bucket list, you might want to jump on these return tickets to Melbourne from £520.

Is there a catch? Well, yes – you will need to cope with a rather lengthy layover in China. But if you can deal with this, you'll save yourself a lot of money: 1-stop flights with other airlines can cost over £300 more.

🏴‍☠️ Pirate tip: you can reduce the layover by five hours by paying about £20-£25 more. Use the Journey Duration slider on Skyscanner to eliminate the longer flights and find these options.

The cheapest fares are to travel in June, but you'll find great prices from around £540, return, to travel in March, April and May too.

There are lots of options, so the best is to use the price calendar on Skyscanner:
