There are places that have inspired tales, stories and legends. Rothenburg (located near Nuremberg) in Germany is one of them. It's the town that Disney took as a reference for the production of its classic “Pinocchio” (1940). Cool, right?

We found a top-rated 4* hotel in the middle of Rothenburg, where you can stay from £74* per night -- that's a pretty awesome price compared to other hotels of a similar calibre in this fairy-tale town. Some of our example dates are even during the festive period!

To get there, you will have to fly to Nuremberg, Stuttgart or Memmingen, airports that are just over an hour's drive from Rothenburg. You could also fly to Munich or Baden-Baden, although they are a bit further away. From these airports you can take trains/public transport to get to your hotel if you don't want to hire a car.
