This hotel also happens to be one of Edinburgh's most haunted places. It's home to the ghost of the lovelorn Lady Catherine, who was imprisoned in the castle tower in 1695 after being discovered with a stable hand, and died at the early age of 16.
It's said that her mist-like apparition has been caught on camera, and some people have even claimed to have caught a glimpse of her waving to onlookers as she gazed down from the turrets.
