The "Haunted Bedroom" is decorated in Scottish Art Nouveau style, and attempts - with horrifying success - to recreate the bed chamber of an Edwardian child.

The bedroom is low lit with wall lighting and candles. Blood red drapes and carved wood period ornaments are everywhere. If you hold your breath, you can hear the sounds of ocean at base of the cliff outside the windows - though if you screamed would anyone hear?

The room is complete with books, toys and other odd nicknacks - and judging by the objects we can see, this must have been one weird Edwardian kid...

This Scottish baronial throne and bookcase is a great spot for a quiet read: or scream.

This Gothic mantelpiece is charming, and not clearly a satanic altar.

The room is part of Talliston House & Gardens, a house that hides a labyrinth of rooms styled from different eras and themes.

The Haunted Room is part of a project that took 25 years to complete. Each room in this incredible house has its own rich story, and the house itself contains 2,000 objects sourced from 27 countries around the world.

The handcarved bed looks... cosy. Though I guess it may be the last bed you ever sleep in, so enjoy it!

You might find the odd spell book lying around, so whatever you do, do not recite the incantation - TRUST US.

This Italian-style staircase leads you to the upper rooms.

This dining table is located in the chapel of the Welsh watchtower - another room you can book in the Talliston House & Gardens.

The Cabin in the Woods is the third bedroom at Talliston.

The Victorian living room in the Welsh watchtower.
