The Thai island re-opens to some tourists
Vaccinated foreign visitors arriving on the Thai island of Phuket will no longer need to quarantine on arrival from today.
Thailand, on the UK's Amber List, is now open for limited tourism.
Only fully vaccinated tourists from countries deemed to be low- and medium-risk (the UK is medium-risk) will be allowed to head to Phuket and they will also need to provide a negative Covid test as well as other documentation on arrival.
If you do fancy it, you'll also have to stay at a special certified hotel where 70% of staff have been vaccinated and download a tracking app on your phone.
Once there, holidaymakers will have a relative amount of freedom to explore the island and can lounge on the beaches, jet ski and enjoy evenings eating out in restaurants.
