Mateys, as you know self-catering accommodation was allowed to open up in England from 12th April and we jumped at the chance to head off to enjoy a little break away.

Incase you are worried about how safe taking a break is right now we are here to tell you what it was really like and hopefully reassure you.

Details

In the days before heading off we received a phone call from the resort asking what time we would like to check-in, the usual time is 5pm but they were allowing guests to check-in earlier to make the times staggered and not have everyone turn up at once.

We also checked-in online before we left and downloaded the app where you can book the restaurant/bar or book a delivery of any drinks or meals you would prefer to be delivered to your accommodation.

When we arrived the check-in staff were waiting, wearing masks and you don't even have to get out the car, the keys are in the accommodation and there is a sign to say the accommodation has been cleaned and it ready for you to stay in safely.

During our stay we headed to the bar and restaurant where you check-in using the NHS track and trace app, use the hand sanitiser provided and wait to be seated. The staff all have masks on as well as gloves and you enjoy table service where you can also order using the app. Your bill is paid for at the end of your visit to limit the amount of times you need to be in contact with the staff.

There was a private hot tub outside the lodge which can be used 24-hours a day and is checked each morning to make sure everything is fine for you to continue to use.

Throughout the resort there are hand sanitiser stations before you need to open gates etc and a phone number you can get in touch with the resort staff if you need anything without having to go to reception.

The whole experience felt super safe, everywhere was really clean and the staff had done everything they could to make it covid safe.

If you fancy booking a self-catering break in the coming months, we would highly recommend booking with Hoseasons, they offer accommodation all over the country, many have hot tubs and some are dog friendly too.
