Travel Trends 2023

Friday 16 December 2022

In our most recent survey of the HolidayPirates user base, we took a broader approach and looked into travel trends of the past year, and also forward into 2023. From eco-friendly travel, to the impact of inflation, we gained some insightful glimpses into how the next year may look for holidaymakers and the travel industry in general. We’ve compiled the data into the following info-graphics for those who want to know, at a glance, what we found.

Eco evolution

In the 4 markets we approached, we found that the number of respondents who will be taking into account the environmental impact of their next holiday was at minimum, near the 50% mark and the Italian market surged to 71%!

We’re not in a position to speculate on why this may be, but it’s fascinating to learn that the degree of interest in environmentally friendly travel meets our expectations. You’ll hear more from us on this topic in the future.

Every cent counts

Another question we asked addressed inflation and the cost of living crisis. Less than half of each market believed that inflation could prevent them going on holiday next year but the figures from this survey are still high. Perhaps a good deal just became even more interesting!

Wellness is worth it

The final piece of data we want to show from our survey ends on a positive note. We asked about how a good holiday can affect one’s life, and as we expected nearly all respondents said they felt it improved their mental well being. The importance of something like that can’t really be understated.

And that’s all for this roundup of just some of the data from the last HolidayPirates survey. We take all of this into account when we build our strategies and are excited to see what the new year holds.

Stay tuned for more!
