Cyprus is to re-introduce face masks from Friday to combat a new wave of Covid in the island nation, it has been confirmed.
From 8 July, face masks will have to be worn in indoor areas, Health Minister Michalis Hadjipantela said.
Covid cases on the island have trebled in the last month since the indoor face mask rules were scrapped.
The decision is a big u-turn for the government, who had lifted the previous face mask mandate on 1 June.
