Love Locks 🔐
Pirates, let's kick it off with a classic. Paris, the city of lights, the city of love. Pont des Arts was known as the original love lock bridge in Paris. Travelling lovers added personalised padlocks to the bridge as a sign of their affection!
Unfortunately in 2015 the powers that be had to remove the locks from the bridge as it was suffering from the weight of all the locks! So today there's a ban on putting love locks on the Pont des Arts!
Head up to Sacre Coeur ('Sacred-Heart' in english) and Montmartre and add your love locks there after scaling the 300 steps up to the top. Or just take the funicular up like we did 😉
Boat rides 🛥️
There is nothing more romantic than sailing through the canals of Amsterdam with your loved one by your side. And at sunset, the cruise is even more magical. If you want to really push the boat out (lol) - what about a gondola ride in Venice? They don't come cheap at between €80-100 but come on, this is a bucket list for a reason!
Whether its something closer to home like a ferry across the Mersey or a longer trip around the beautiful spots of Croatia, nothing says romance like sea sickness and unlimited champagne!
Skinny dipping (Sort of!) 💦
Head to Berlin and to Liquidrom and take it all off to experience their saunas and steam baths with your lover! Dive into thermal baths, the thermal pool in the stunning dome hall and feel transported to Japan with its outdoor area with hot water onsen pool.
If you fancy some more of the great outdoors, right in the centre of Barcelona, the beach across from the Barceloneta, known as Platja de San Sebastà – is famous for being a top nudist spot! Alternatively if you're looking for an LGBTQ+ friendly hang-out, head up the coast to Mar Bella beach!
