Pirates, Laos is one of our favourite countries in Southeast Asia, and it is open once again to travellers!
Here's everything you need to know about the tourist opening and the new entry rules.
As one of the last countries in Southeast Asia, Laos is now allowing tourists to enter again. This was announced by the government last weekend. Surprisingly, no corona tests before the flight or on site should be necessary for entry.
✅ Double corona vaccination
✅ Visa (apply at the embassy or online, according to the Federal Foreign Office this should also be possible “On Arrival” i.e., on site when entering the country – up to 30 days, extension possible; present a passport that is still valid for 6 months and two passport photos)
❌ No tests
❌ No quarantine
From now onwards.
When a country opens at such short notice, good flight connections are usually rare. We would recommend that you book flights to Bangkok (pay attention to the entry rules for Thailand) and then fly on from there.
