In a move that makes you suspect senior management at Belgium’s national rail provider SNCB have been merrymaking with one too many high-strength Belgian beers, rail prices between 10 December to 8 January 2023 have been slashed in half.

If you've ever wanted to see the canals of Bruges, the Grand Place of Brussels or the Castle of the Counts in Ghent, you can base yourself in one destination and see multiple cities easily for 50% the cost you'd usually pay.

You could easily catch the Eurostar or fly into Brussels and see the Christmas markets of Bruges, Antwerp, Leuven and Ghent over the space of a few days.

How do I get the discount?

You can book tickets on the SNCB website, via the SNCB app or at any ticket machine / ticket office in Belgium.

When is it valid?

  • The 'Winter promo ticket' is valid between 10 December 2022 to 8 January 2023

  • You can use it any day of the week

  • This applies to return journeys on the same day
