Mateys, you probably hear people saying January is a good time to book your holiday, but not necessarily the reasons why.
We're here to tell you our top tips on why you should book your 2024 holiday this month.🌴
The early bird catches the worm as they say, and the same can be the case with holidays. The earlier you book, the more chance you are of getting the holiday you want, as well as the room type and flights.
Some departure airports have multiple flights to certain destinations a day, on varying times. Some, only have one on certain days of the week. Prices will go up due to demand, so again, the quicker you book, most likely the better the price. ✈️
You may want a certain room type, and these can be limited. If you are after a family room, adjoining rooms, or maybe a swim-up room, you will possibly have to book sooner rather than later. The quicker you book, the more likely you are to secure the room you want.
Holiday providers such as TUI, First Choice and easyJet Holidays offer free child places on select holidays. These places are also limited, so get in quick if the holiday you want has a place on offer. 🧒
Discounts, of course. Holiday companies offer big discounts in January to get the ball rolling on sales. The discounts might come in the form of a discount code you add at the time of booking. Or a saving already included on the holiday, or maybe both! 💰
As well as being able to grab a great saving on an early-bird holiday, January is a good time to get your hands on a last-minute getaway. The holiday companies don't want those seats to go unsold, so you have a high chance of bagging a winter-sun holiday or a city trip. As well as UK hotels and staycations and flights.👀
When you don't leave booking your holiday until the last minute, you will most likely have the option to book with a deposit. These can sometimes be extremely low, or even free in some cases.
The longer ahead you book your holiday, the longer you will have to pay for it. Of course, you can pay for the holiday straight up if you wish. But if you would rather pay for the holiday over time, there are many options for you to do that. 💸
You can pay a small or zero deposit, then pay a monthly amount direct to the holiday company. Or, you can pay the deposit and save up the rest yourself, then pay it direct to the holiday company in usually one or two transactions.
There are a whole host of extras available, that you can save on by booking in advance.
Booking airport parking in advance, can save you a quite a lot. You will also get to choose the type of parking you'd like. Sometimes the more fancy options, such as valet parking, can sell out, or be super expensive nearer your departure. 🚙
Depending on your flight times, you may require an airport hotel before travelling, or on your return. Again, the quicker you book, the more likely you are to get the best rate. You may also have more chance of nabbing a booking that offers free cancellation and no prepayment. 🏨
If you fancy treating yourself to lounge access before your flight, you have more chance of getting a place in advance. Even if the airport you're flying from has a choice of lounges, these can sell out. Lounges can also differ massively in what they offer, so you might want to book your preferred one. 🍷
Not driving to the airport? Public transport is also cheaper when booked in advance. Give yourself plenty of time in case of delays on your journey. 🚂
There are some things you can book that save some stress before heading off on holiday, though don't necessarily need booked ages in advance.
