Pirates, we were looking at what it would cost for a decent week by the sea in the UK this summer, and found prices have risen so much, it's now a better deal to take a cruise!
Here's an example - 7 nights at decent 4-star hotel in Brighton will set you back £725 per person right now, before you pay for any attractions, food or rum.
The cruise we're looking at gives you accommodation, entertainment every day, all meals and get this -- UNLIMITED DRINKS for £999 all-in. Not sure how you eat, drink and be merry, but that would be a GREAT deal for us.

Set sail on a luxe 7-night cruise from Celebrity -- named on Conde Nast Traveler's list of the world's top cruise lines, from £999* per person. While the price per person might be at first glance higher than a 7 night hotel stay, you'll end up saving yourself a lot more.
As an example, we found a 7 night hotel stay at the 4* waterfront Jurys Inn from £1,449* or £725 per person.
The difference in price from the cruise and the hotel stay is only £39 per person, per day, which could easily be spent on drinks alone.
