Extreme day trip to Gothenburg ❤️ Early flight out, late flight back 🙅♀️ No hotel needed
From £30
Pirates, landing a direct round-trip flight to Sweden for around £30 is an absolute steal. And, because June brings nearly 18 hours of daylight (with the sun not setting until around 10:15 PM), you are essentially getting a full, bright summer day and night out of a single round-trip ticket -- and no hotel needed!
Here's why we love this extreme day trip:
Gothenburg airport transfers are straightforward
The city is compact
The tram/ferry system is excellent
June daylight is absurdly long
The southern archipelago is reachable on normal public transport
16 June 2026
10:25 -- Land at Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport
10:45–11:00 -- Get the Flygbussarna airport coach outside arrivals.
Journey time is usually: 30–40 mins to city centre
11:35 -- Arrive at: Gothenburg Central Station
11:45–13:30 — Canals + Seafood lunch
Walk route: Central Station → canals → old town area → fish market
Stops: Kronhuset, canal streets, harbour viewpoints, lunch
13:30–15:15 — Haga + viewpoint
Walk into: Haga
This area is compact, realistically, 60–90 mins is enough unless you sit for ages.
Fika Stop, Café Husaren, Get: giant Hagabullen cinnamon bun & coffee
Then: Walk uphill to Skansen Kronan
Excellent city views and very achievable on foot.
15:15 -- Southern Archipelago run
Tram 11 to Saltholmen from Järntorget
Travel time: ~30 mins
Ferry out (~16:00)
Take a Västtrafik ferry to Brännö or Styrsö
❗️Do not try to island-hop multiple ferries unless schedules line up perfectly.
Return: Aim to be back in central Gothenburg around: 18:30–19:00
That gives proper buffer before airport transfer.
We might be pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. However, with deals this hot, things change quickly—flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. And just so you know, local taxes might still apply – even treasure has its fine print. But mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. If you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry, we’re working on more great offers.
