Ahoy, fancy a trip to Greece, but on a budget?

We found some cheap return flights to Athens from £56, and we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to create a little Greek island trip for the economical traveller.

The trip includes the lesser known islands of Aegina and Agistri, which are both easily accessible from Athens.

Aegina is a budget friendly option and is a great blend of archaeological monuments, picturesque villages and gorge beaches.

Agistri is Aegina's smaller neighbour, and is a fab beach spot, with lovely pebble and sand beaches, rocky cliffs, and tiny, hidden coves.

The ferry from Athens to Aegina takes one hour and twenty minutes, so it's an easy hop over. You can then take a ferry to Agistri which takes a mere 27 minutes. From there, you can take a ferry back to Athens for your return flight.

The example date for this itinerary is in late April and May, which is a really nice time to explore Greece. You can avoid the mad crowds of summer, whilst still experiencing beaut sunny days.

This would be a great trip to take solo, with mates or as a couple. All prices shown are for solo travellers.

We've put together some great value flight and hotel options, to get you started with your Greek adventure.

Athens:

Athens Choice Hotel is a centrally located and well reviewed hotel that offers affordable rooms.

Hotel Kimon Athens has top reviews and looks super cute, plus it's located in the historical neighbourhood of Athens. It still has a very decent price tag.

Athens Residence is another highly rated, yet affordable, 4-star option.

Aegina:

Hotel Rachel is a cheap option in the popular area of Agia Marina, which is a great base for exploring the island.

Hotel Mistral is based inland in thescenic area of Souvala, 9km away from the port of Aegina, with fab views of the Saronic gulf.

Agistri:

Vasilaras Hotel is well-rated, has an outdoor pool, affordable rooms and it's on the coastline - sorted?

Laza Beach Inn is located in Skala village and has it's own private beach. 😍

Additional Information

We might be Pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. Here’s the catch: with deals this hot, things change quickly: flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. Mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. But, if you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry: we’re working on more great offers.
