Norse Atlantic's low-cost fare
From £426 pp
Pirates, South Africa's spring is prime Cape Town season, and Norse Atlantic UK are running return flights from London Gatwick to Cape Town for £426. Departure is 23 September 2026, with the return on 1 October, giving you a full eight days in the Mother City.

Late September into October is spring in the Cape, with mild days averaging around 19 degrees, longer sunshine and the winter rains easing off. It is also whale season along the coast, and the wildflowers in the wider Western Cape are usually still going strong. Do note this is Norse Atlantic's low-cost fare, so only hand luggage is included. Check the airline's website for checked baggage fees before you book, especially handy on a longer trip like this.
Eight days is enough to get properly stuck into the city. Table Mountain, a 2026 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best winner at 4.8/5 on TripAdvisor, is the obvious pull, whether you take the cableway or hike up for the views over the bay. Beyond that you have the colourful Bo-Kaap streets, the penguins at Boulders Beach, and the Cape Winelands an easy drive out of town for anyone who fancies a lazy afternoon among the vineyards.
