Swap Como or Garda for this lesser-known lake with these great-value direct flights

It's bigger than Lake Garda, it's probably cheaper than Lake Como -- and it's definitely right up there with those two popular lake destinations in terms of how beautiful it is! Try Lake Constance for a holiday and you won't be disappointed.

The scenery is stunning, the lake is surrounded by mountains. You can even stay on a little island in the middle of the lake (Insel Mainau). There is so much to do, too.

Go in winter and try the Christmas markets here (flights will be a tad more expensive during these special dates). Or, go in spring and cycle around the whole lake.

Its shorelines touch three countries -- Germany, Switzerland and Austria. So, you'll be able to experience a lot of different cultures.
