Mateys, Vietnam is one of my all-time favourite countries. I've been four times (I went solo three of those times) so trust me when I say, you NEED to visit this diverse country. We're making it easy for you because we've just found flights for under £400 to both of its major airports in June.

Although June is during Vietnam's rainy season, that means fewer tourists and plenty of sunshine still! Temperatures will be around 29C and the rain showers usually hit in the afternoon and don't last long, and it certainly won't ruin the fun! Plus, it's not in the months of highest rainfall (September & October).

We've put together some great value flights, accommodation options for both major cities and suggested routes for the rest of your time in the country, to get you started with your epic trip.

Highlights

Great for solo travellers

Details

Flights to Ho Chi Minh City:

Example dates: 6–19 June, 2024

You will have a stop in China each way, but with no return direct flights and the quickest flights being just under triple the cost (at £900), we think it's definitely worth it...

With 11 days in Southern Vietnam, I'd suggest a couple of days in Ho Chi Minh City, soaking up all the history and culture, before going to the Mekong Delta, Dalat and Nha Trang.

Flights to Hanoi:

Example dates: 6–17 June 2024

This route also has a stop in China each way, but also has no return direct flight options. The quickest flights cost just over double (at £727). Basically, by choosing these flights instead, the rest of the holiday pays for itself. 😂

With 10 days in Northern Vietnam, I'd recommend a couple of days in the capital before going hiking in Sapa and visiting the iconic Halong Bay. If you have time, you could also pop to Ninh Binh. If you're a thrill-seeker, doing the 5-day Ha Giang Motorbike trip in Northern Vietnam was one of the best experiences of my life.

Accommodation options for Ho Chi Minh City:

Vietnam is a great place for backpackers or budget travellers, with lots of places to rest your head for less than two Tesco meal deals.

Example date: 09 June, 2024

If you've got a bit more cash to splash (and I really do only mean a bit...), check out this 4-star hotel instead. Isn't it crazy how cheap hotels are in Vietnam - it's even got a pool so you can cool down at the end of a big day of exploring.

Example date: 09 June, 2024

Accommodation options for Hanoi:

This is a great option if you've got a backpacker budget but want to ease yourself in before going to a hostel. This price is for a private double room.

Example date: 09 June, 2024

If you can splash a bit more cash but still don't want to break the bank, here's a great flashpacker option with a pool.

Example date: 09 June, 2024

G Adventures' Vietnam Adventure: Hoi An, Beaches & Ho Chi Minh City is a great place to start and it's 15% off right now!

Additional Information

We might be Pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. Here’s the catch: with deals this hot, things change quickly: flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. Mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. But, if you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry: we’re working on more great offers.
