Pirates, Edinburgh during the festive period is a must. I literally visit every year. The magical old streets light up, it has one of the best Christmas markets, and you need to have a drink at The Dome to see the Christmas tree.
It can get pricey in this season, but the markets start mid-November, and we've spotted this 4-star hotel stay on a midweek date after they open from £69 per night.
This is a rare deal for this hotel, other dates are well over £100. AND, it's actually £1 cheaper than the 2-star Travelodge on the same dates.
And... this hotel even has a pool and sauna, nice!
Midweek is actually the perfect time to visit if you have a couple of days' annual leave left. The markets will be less packed, and you'll be able to get into the bars easier 🥂.
