Never heard of Hayling Island? To be honest, neither had we before this morning but it's a gorgeous little place near Portsmouth that has miles of sandy beaches, loads of wildlife and offers plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy. It's quiet and tranquil.

And on that island, we've found the stunning Salty Lodge, a modern and chic beach house, that opens right onto the sand. You can fall asleep each night to the calming sounds of the ocean after a couple of glasses of wine.
