Gilpin Hotel & Lake House is a family-run boutique brimming with class and character in equal measure. The hotel is spread over two buildings a mile apart: the hotel and the lake house, each set within stunning grounds a stone's throw from Lake Windermere.
The Lake House is incredibly special, with only 6 private bedrooms and a facilities exclusive to guests staying there: you'll find spa treatment rooms, saunas and a swimming pool. It's perfect for those looking for the extra level of seclusion.
The hotel itself is home to 30 rooms, a Champagne Bar, lounge, terraces, spa treatment area – and some resident llamas and alpacas! Plus, some of the rooms even have their own private hot tubs (which aren't available at the Lake House).

The second restautant, Gilpin Spice, has interiors as vibrant as its food, offering a British-Indian fusion menu created by chef Tom Westerland.
