Crystal clear water, palm trees, bungalows, bright sunshine and the smell of sunscreen... Are we in the Maldives? Nope, the two places are 4,000 miles apart.

This is Stella Island Resort, a 5* adults-only resort with 225 rooms you'd sell your nan to have a night sleep in.

Is it pricey? Yeah. Is it worth it? Let's find out!

Additional Information

Stella Island's marvellous overwater bungalows are not suspended over the Indian Ocean: in fact, the structure is built around (and above) a lush man-made swimming pool.

The decoration of the bungalows is modern and tends to use natural fabrics and textures, with large windows to enjoy the view of the water. Each bungalow has a hydromassage bathtub with waterfall shower and a platform with hammock on which to sunbathe and enjoy the wonderful view.

Like any self-respecting resort in the Maldives, Stella Island also has a walkway across the centre of the 'island'. The five-star luxury resort also has a lounge area in the middle of the water for when you want to be surrounded by crystal clear water but stay dry, while if you prefer to take your snack 'soaking', you can swim straight over to one of the bars.

But let's get down to the important questions: how much does it cost to stay in this corner of the Maldives in Greece? The average price per room at the resort is from £300 to over £1000 a night in peak summer.

Considering that a luxury overwater bungalow in the Maldives can cost around £1000 a night, the Stella Island is more affordable for everyone. Plus, the photos you take here will be totally cool, but rest assured, we won't tell anyone your secret!

You can grab a super last minute deal in April and get a cheap hotel rate before the price goes up!
