Riad Lapis-lazuli is a 4-star property located in the medina, away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still only a 20-minute walk to the centre of Marrakesh. The hotel has all the basics: air-con and Wi-Fi, but also has a gorgeous rooftop terrace and a pool to cool down in.

We like this riad as it's got a fabulous 4.5/5 rating on Tripadvisor, it's traditionally decorated, guests say it is very clean and comfortable and the location is excellent for exploring the city. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves Moroccan dishes such as tajines, that make it a bit easier to grab a meal without too much planning.

Being in a more residential part of the city, previous reviewers have recommended pre-booking an airport transfer before travel, as it can be difficult to find the riad at first. The hotel is around 850 metres from the Grand Taxis bus station so you can catch a taxi very easily to get around.
