Kingston Country Courtyard is a B&B-style hotel located in a former stone farmhouse and converted outbuildings.
Rooms are simple with a rustic touch, think exposed stone walls and wooden beams. You'll have an en suite bathroom, a flat-screen TV, and tea and coffee making equipment. WiFi is best in the reception area, as thick stone walls prevent the signal from getting into every corner of the property.
There are apartments with kitchens, dining areas and pull-out sofas in case you're travelling with your whole family or bigger groups.
Pathways are uneven, and the parking is gravelled. There are 2 accessible bathrooms with fitted rails and wider doors. Breakfast is served in the Sawmill Restaurant in the lower courtyard which is partially accessible, alternatively breakfast can be served to the room.
We recommend calling the hotel if you've got any questions or need anything specifically -- we found them very helpful and accommodating.
We went with the entire family and stayed for two nights. The kids loved the day trip to Swanage on the steam train. We also checked out the ruins of Corfe Castle and drove to Knoll Beach in Studland Bay.
Did you know winter is the best time to look for fossils on the Jurassic Coast as beaches are near-enough empty, and the rough sea brings up more of the historic evidence? Here are some tips in case you'd like to try your hand at being a fossil hunter.
