Pirates, we won't try to make this look glam because, well, it's not. You can't be expecting a 5-star hotel with lake views from £25 per night, but what you can expect is a highly-rated 4-star hostel stay with a private bedroom and a shared bathroom.

Something that isn't for all, but if you want to save some cash dollar, this is how to do it. Try finding cheaper accommodation that's a 10-minute walk to Ambleside village and sits across the lake, we dare you.

If shared bathrooms aren't your thing you can get a room with an en-suite, you will just pay more.
